Jose C. Soto
Jose Soto is the founder of the NJ HIIT fitness community and serves as the owner and active operator of the training facility. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in North New Jersey, Jose fulfilled his childhood dream by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school.
He served for six years, including a deployment to the Iraq War from 2006 to 2007, where he was a vehicle commander leading a four-man fireteam in a convoy security team. Upon his honorable discharge, Jose pursued higher education at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. He subsequently joined the police academy and was in the hiring process for the FBI when he decided to follow his second childhood dream of becoming a firefighter. In October 2011, Jose graduated from the fire academy and continues to serve as a full-time firefighter for Millburn, NJ Township. On this days off, Jose began personal training people at a local park igniting what became the beginning of NJ HIIT Fitness.
Angel Rowe
Angel Rowe is an accomplished Track and Field athlete and a distinguished Personal Trainer and Health Coach. A Rowan University All-American, Angel set and continues to hold the school record in the Women's Triple Jump and was a multiple-time Conference Champion.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Exercise Science and a certification in Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Angel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her training. Her diverse client base includes professional athletes, individuals with physical and mental disabilities, the elderly, youth athletes, and adults seeking to improve their fitness. Angel’s passion for movement began at age 7 with ballet, evolved through cheerleading, and ultimately led to a successful career in sports. She firmly believes that exercise is a powerful form of medicine and is dedicated to demonstrating that fitness can be enjoyable, accessible, and essential for good health. Her mission is to educate and inspire others by challenging the notion that exercise is difficult, tedious, or burdensome.
Julio Mercado
With over 20 years of experience in physical fitness education, Coach Julio Mercado is a distinguished Certified Running Coach through the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
An accomplished runner, Julio has completed numerous races including 5ks, marathons, and ultra-marathons, and is dedicated to helping others achieve their endurance and fitness goals. As a valued coach at NJ HIIT Fitness, Julio leads strength and conditioning classes and designs personalized training programs. His expertise is further enriched by his military background, having served over 9 years in the United States Marine Corps, where he was also a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor. Julio has a proven track record of guiding participants through their first 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, and full marathons, instilling confidence and a sense of achievement in every runner.

NJ HIIT Fitness features a sprawling 7,700 sq. ft. open-layout facility meticulously designed to elevate your training experience. Our dedicated lifting area and specialized turf section for sled pushes and agility drills provide versatile workout options. Enjoy the added benefit of training outdoors in fresh air, which brings variety and excitement to your routines. Our facility includes lockers and a comprehensive recovery room with Normatec Compression Boots, Hydro-bed Massage, an Ice Barrel, and massage guns to support your recovery and enhance your fitness journey. To monitor your progress, we use a cutting-edge InBody Body Composition machine, tracking muscle growth, body fat loss, and blood pressure every 30 days. Additionally, our advanced heart rate monitoring system MyZone keeps you engaged and ensures you stay on track with your workouts and progress.
